Is it legal to play ludo online?
Without a doubt, yes. According to the Supreme Court of India, playing ludo online is a legal process. ludo fall under the definition of gaming, as stated in the Supreme Court of India decision: the expression 'gaming' in the two Acts has to be interpreted in the light of the law laid down by this court in the two1957 cases, wherein it has been authoritatively held that a competition which substantially depends on skill is not gambling. Gaming is the act or practice of betting on a game of chance. It is gambling where chance is the deciding factor. The 'gaming' in the two Acts would thus refer to wagering or betting on games of chance. It would not include sports of skill such as horse racing.

Is playing online Ludo considered gambling?
No, as The Indian Constitution defines gambling as any activity or undertaking whose determination is controlled or influenced by chance or accident, or any activity or undertaking entered into or undertaken with the consciousness of the risk of winning or losing (e.g., prize competitions, a wagering contract).
The Supreme Court of India has recognized Ludo as a game of skill rather than chance, distinguishing it from gambling. As a result, the activity of playing for money in a game of skill is protected under the Indian Constitution - Article 19[1]. (g).
